My largest book to date, well reflected by how long it took me. I admit that the work within does not justify taking so long, both motivation and supplies were always running thin and the double sized book in contrast to my last proved quite demoralising. Whilst the larger size allows for exploration unconfined by a small canvas, it was simply too time consuming to go very detailed and found the designs I came up with became half-hearted before even a page had been close to finishing.

There is however, a larger focus on medium and finishing techniques. In my experience with sketch work, final outcomes and pretty pictures come secondary to the unintentional glimpses of inspiration. Sometimes the slither of facial features, colours and textures working together or more often than not, a bizarre encapsulation of some unexplainable quality that I wish to extrapolate into polished form is what I most intently desire to draw from these pages. I’m still quite character focused, but there’s lots of variation, both stylistically and quality (sometimes less is more) - you can really start to see the universe of characters begin to develop personalities within themselves, from here it is my intention to develop their interpersonal relations as well. Maybe one day I’ll design the environments of which they reside also.
