Thinking Deeply (2024)

A breakout piece in terms of complexity of my illustrative form and subject matter. In my search for satisfaction within my work, I sought to create something that pushed my understanding of composition, colour and a somewhat implementation of reality in conjunction with the forgiving nature of my style’s abstraction.

The idea goes, in its most literal sense, that the man’s tattoos are materialising in the physical realm. Fittingly titled ‘Thinking Deeply’
(depicted in the chrome lettering in the background), the more sentimental concept is one of daydreaming and embracing the ‘space out’. I tried to reinforce this in the male’s expression, being somewhat vague and distant, almost unaware of the craziness around him, going as far to have objects materialising underneath him and in his hands.

This illustration was a wake up call for my obsession with details within digital mediums, I fiddled with the details for 130+ hours, of which I debate was unnecessary haha, nonetheless we persist :)
